The first few days...

The fish tank at the Vancouver airport is very colourful.

The kaminarimon gate at Sensoji temple which we are staying by in Tokyo. Kaminari is my last name!

Dana and Doug enjoying their first convenience store breakfast here in the kitchen at Asakusa Smile.

Colo Galita... the picture on the inside flap is of the guy from Katamari Damacy rolling up a bunch of Colo Galitas! Colo Galitas have a biscuit shell filled with chocolate which is filled with caramel. They are pretty delicious.

Under the cherry blossoms at Ueno Park with Steve. You probably would not be able to guess what they were talking about here. After the sun went down it got pretty cold, but it was pretty and I can't believe we were able to get a spot with all the other people who were vying for spots since it was the perfect viewing time.

Whale skewers at the fish market.

Some snack foods at the fish market. We didn't really see much fish since we were too late to catch the fish sales but we saw a huge box of fish heads being transported and some fish trimmings here and there.

At a small shrine near Tsukiji. Dana and Doug are ringing the bells after making their monetary offerings.

Dana's aunt bought us some of these dango to try.

The very fresh sashimi set that Dana and Doug got.

I got the kakkiage teishoku which was also good.

We went to see some plastic foods at the plastic food district.

Dana taking a picture of the funny Abercrombie and Fitch in Ginza. Everyone should come see this Abercrombie and Fitch, André especially. It is the most hilarious store you will see, for so many reasons. It is a tall black building with wooden shutters on all of the windows and a guy dressed in Abercrombie clothes stands outside and another guy dressed exactly the same stands inside the doors. When someone wants to enter or exit the store these guys open the doors and you hear the loud clubbing music from inside and there are flashing lights and maniquins dressed in shiny ridiculous clothes and then the doors close again.

It's starting to look really Spring-like recently, although it snowed last night and was slushy this morning...

I forgot to mention that we saw Eden the Asian street magician and I finally saw him put the cantaloupe or honeydew (I don't remember which one it was) under the hat! There was no trick at all to it - we were watching from the side and he just very quickly pulled the melon out of his pouch and put it under the hat!

I braided Kelvie's hair! :)

Random stuff

Went to Tower Beach with AJ...

The weather was really nice!

We were in the penthouse for an opening ceremonies party. Here is Ray lying on the floor yet still managing to look classy.

André changed into a Fizz t-shirt after a martini was spilled on his shirt.

There was an Olympic mascot sighting. Quatchi is bumping into the pylon because the person inside the costume can't see anything.

Photo op in front of the Olympic flame by the convention centre.

I think they're really cute actually.

Went to a free Our Lady Peace concert at the Olympic zone in Richmond. Wasn't that exciting.

For Ray's birthday we went laser tagging. From what I recall JAMAL is Travis, OJ is Steve, TYRAEL I think is Eddie, JACKBLACK is Ben, RAYJAY is Ray, I don't know who TIMBALAND is, QAE21574 is Fred, TYRONE is Kelvie, SHARONDA is Emily I think, DRE is Andre, HACHI and NANA are Jade and her friend Kathy. I was SHANIQUA in 27th place. I got progressively worse the following two rounds. The last round I think I only beat the kid who was walking around with his mom.

This really can't be Nanjamincy without Ben...

Taylor's Place

Taylor's dad moved out of his apartment so Taylor moved into it; it's in Yaletown! We went to Taylor's place Friday night and Ben brought his Wii. Here is a view from his balcony on the 21st floor (you can't really tell because of my camera, but you could see BC Place and Science World from there):

We went to McDonalds.

Here is Ben eating a McFlurry after, um, having had his contacts in for too long.

We also stopped by a 7-11. For some reason I was reminded of the movie Clerks, but I couldn't remember the name of the movie at the time.

Edit: It's almost Chinese New Year! Here's the colourful display of dried mushrooms and whatever it is Chinese people buy at T&T:

Check out these old school pictures of me!

Pictures from first year!

Check out my long hair!

My skin was nicer too...

Ben: "Is that you on the left?"
Yes. Yes, that is me.

Bonus!!!

Ultra bonus!!!

It's that video of Prof Stuckless igniting liquid oxygen and all the kids laughing even though it has gone horribly wrong and later takes 3 hours to burn out in the stairwell beside Hebb Theatre.

Things that happened... in pictures! (and a video)

There was the Welcome Women to Physics and Astronomy thing that Ashley was asking you to help out with on Facebook. We made some tape-following robots. Ashley said she didn't realize how ass-kicking I was until that day.

I made this one! I didn't get to keep it though, but it was cool.

Here's one of my dog in my room, and a bit of my foot at an odd angle so it looks like I have 4 toes. You might be seeing some more of my foot some time in the near future...

I made a special trip out into Burnaby to go to this used book store that my brother's friend suggested - Imperial Used Books... it turned out to be a XXX used book store. Fail. :(

We went to Whistler! We played Magic the Gathering. Taylor and André are sorting through their magic cards...

André and Ben being blurry around the stove. We made eggplant tacos one night, but when we were at the store we forgot to get any lettuce, cheese, or sour cream.

I went to Hi Genki with my brother. I remember you said your brother had the chicken karaage don and it was really good; my brother had the spicy chicken karaage don and it is his favourite thing ever. It is not pictured though...

We went skating yesterday for Eddie's birthday. Later we went to Sammy J Peppers and after that we went over to Eddie's house where there was karaoke. Fred is amazingly good at karaoke. André and I did our rendition of Stan by Eminem. André did the Dido part, and I did the rap-talking. I am bad at rap-talking.

Here is Ben trying really hard not to look like a retard at Sammy J Peppers.

This is Nate's kid, Gabby at the skating rink. She was moving too much for me to get a good picture, but I got a video. But it is sideways... sorry.

Ben really wanted me to put up this Polaroid from our 21st birthday when you gave him that Battlestar Galactica t-shirt, before it got all stretched out. One time I tried on an XXS t-shirt, and I thought to myself that that is how Ben probably feels wearing a Medium t-shirt.
